How to maintain a leaf blower

This is a few tips on how to maintain your leaf blower and routines you can do to reduce the chance of larger costs later in its life.

Simple Routines

A few simple things you can do to extend its lifetime are clean the exterior surface of the blower. Check the throttle lock and throttle trigger function in a safe manner. Clean or replace the air filter. Make sure all nuts or screws are properly tightened. Check the collection bag is intact and the zipper works.

There are also a few more things you can do to such as check the condition of the starter device. Check none of the anti vibration mountings are damaged. Clean the fan blades on the flywheel. Clean or replace the mufflers spark arrest screen. You can also check the air intake at the starter device and remove any debris if its clogged. You can also clean the carburetor space.

Conclusion

Performing simple routines and checks like these can help prevent your leaf blower from needing actual repairs but they will not fix any already developed issues. These should only be used as a prevention system not to fix anything.
